The Plumbing Guru

Welcome to the Plumbing Guru, your one stop shop for vital information on all issues drainage related.

I am an industry professional with over a decade of experience in this line of work. Over the years I have witnessed that not all problems are random; they are a direct result of bad practices.

Even the ones that are not could often have been prevented if proper maintenance and diligent was being regularly undertaken.

Drainage systems are something that we often take for granted. We don’t see them; we don’t hear them, as far as most of us are aware when water leaves our sink and toilet we never have to worry about it again or where it goes. That all changes when the system breaks down.

As a drainage technician, however, take it from me that you should always be thinking about your system’s general health and state of repair to make sure that things don’t very quickly go awry.

When unguided sewage is involved things will rapidly get out of control as blocked drains can result in flooding, and widespread water damage to areas throughout your home and garden.

When this happens, it is not just the repair cost for the system itself you have to contend with – you may face tremendously expensive bills, or a big insurance claim, for the structural and aesthetic damage that the water can cause.

Don’t worry too much though – there are plenty of steps you can take to minimise this risk!

How My Blog Can Help!

Through working in the industry, I have seen countless broken drainage systems. While some of them are entirely accidental, there are certain mistakes that people make again and again which lead to blockages and other problems.

If you have had problems with your drainage system before, then this is the blog for you. Not only can I give you tips on what the problem might be, but I can also offer guidance on how to avoid it happening again in the future as well as tips on general maintenance that you can consider such as:

  • Advice on how to maintain your pipes.
  • Guidance on how not to mistreat your pipes!
  • Tips on hiring the right professionals.

I appreciate this topic is not necessarily something that you want to read for fun, but I would encourage you to have a browse and inform yourself to, at the very least, pick up a few good habits which will allow you to avoid a drainage catastrophe!I appreciate this topic is not necessarily something that you want to read for fun, but I would encourage you to have a browse and inform yourself to, at the very least, pick up a few good habits which will allow you to avoid a drainage catastrophe!
